Enlightenment Definition
“Spiritual Enlightenment is not a state of inertia but an exalted state of eternal bliss. Spiritual Enlightenment is the state of full awareness and becoming one with the Absolute Truth.”
Spiritual Enlightenment means awakening, self-realization, or God-realization. The realization of the supreme soul is Spiritual enlightenment.
This is the state of being enlightened and being free from the cycle of birth and death. It is the state of being a divine soul.
The whole soul life is a journey of being “divine” from “I”. Death of “I” is self-realization, soul realization, or God-realization.
Such a person becomes free from life and death (Jeevanmukta), unites with supreme energy, and obtain liberation after leaving the body.
The degree of Spiritual Enlightenment
- Spiritual Enlightenment state has degrees like enlightenment, more enlightenment, and the most enlightened state. Knowledge of self is the first state of Spiritual enlightenment (“Jivanmukta”).
- As past life Karmas exhaust more and more the enlightened being becomes richer spiritually and more dissolve into the supreme being.
- When the whole past is exhausted the person attains the state of “Vidahmukti”. In this state, the enlightened person dissolves completely into cosmic energy such as Gautam Buddha and Sai Baba.
- As clay pot destroys and becomes one with the cosmos same such sages leave their body and become one with the cosmic power or God.
What does it feel like to be enlightened?
Being enlightened is a journey to become “I” to the “divine”. The journey is started with the knowledge of the self.
The person who is on this journey has a completely different thought process from the persons who are on the journey of this world (Being human is a journey to become divine to “I”).

What happens after Spiritual Enlightenment?
The body is different from Soul
Enlightened sage or liberated sage knows that he or she is not a body at all and their body is entirely different from their soul.
On the contrary, normally a person knows that he or she is only a body and for them, nothing exists except their body.
Supreme Soul and Soul become one
Enlightened sage knows that the supreme God present in this body not “I”. This “I” and Supreme Being become one.
There is no difference between God and “I”. God is “I” and “I” is God. Both become one.
The world is a play of Supreme Soul
An enlightened person knows that the whole world is a play of God. God made the world. God is shining everywhere.
Such a person has understood and realized the true meaning of omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent.
A liberated Sage is one who has a balanced mind and divine vision and therefore, liberated sage sees God everywhere.
Life Cycle Completed
An enlightened sage knows that his or her life cycle is over and he or she will not come again on the stage of the world.
Normally, A common person also thinks that after death he or she will not come on the earth because most people have no faith in the incarnation.
Those who have faith in the incarnation they think that they will come again and again in the world.
All People are in the State of Dream
Enlightened sage knows that all the people are suffering due to their past life karmas and still in the state of a dream.
Enlightened sage also knows that all the people are in the stress in vain. There is no need to take so stress as everything is temporary in this temporary world.
Enlightened Sage Speaks Truth
An enlightened sage cannot harm anyone because the person knows there is God in each and every living being.
Such a person cannot speak falsely for their benefit. They can still speak falsely for the benefits of others.
Forgiveness
An enlightened person forgives the faults of others without a delay.
Enlightened Sage Enjoys both the World Physical and Subtle World
An enlightened sage clearly understands the temporary nature of the physical world and the permanent nature of the subtle world.
Same, as the person who wakes up from the sleep and understands the temporary nature of the dream he saw during the sleep.
Liberated sage understands the illusionary nature of the world however, he or she is living in the illusionary world. Soul life is a serial of dreams one after another and people are in a deep sleep.
Enlightened Sage Possess Divine Virtues & Divine Personality
After obtaining the knowledge of self, illusionary power automatically destroyed itself, but due to the impact of the past life Karmas, the enlightened sage still has to face his past and therefore, the enlightened sage works and behaves in the world that looks the same as the behavior of a common man.
This enlightened person looks the same as other common people; however, the person possessed an entirely altered divine personality.
Enlightened Sage never Runs after the Sensual Objects
An enlightened sage knows the world and its illusionary property, therefore, the liberated person never runs after the sensual objects like otherworldly people.
Same as the person never runs after the mirage for drinking water after knowing the nature of the mirage.
The enlightened person feels extreme satisfaction towards materialistic things and luxuries and enjoys the life fully in what he or she has.
Free from Worldly Pain and Pleasure
An enlightened sage becomes free from lust, desires, anger, hatred, worries, anxieties, and egoism, etc. Pain and pleasure have no meaning for such sage.
The liberated sage knows that what he is facing all are due to his past actions and now pains and suffering are coming out in order to free him from the past life debts.
Therefore, liberated sage enjoys life and accepts whatever comes in leftover life.
No Forceful Teaching and Preaching
A fully enlightened person (“Vidahmukta” ) never forces the public to be awakened because the liberated sage knows that the people in the world are still the parts of play of the God and playing because of the wish of God.
However, whenever one comes to the enlightened sage to get Spiritual enlightenment the sage accepts the person to teach the lessons that support him to walk on the path of the enlightenment.
The enlightened sage sees the absolute God everywhere, in and out, no duality, no differences at all.
Enlightened Sage knows that self, divine guru, and supreme self all are one, undying, static, and stable.
Nothing comes and goes, everything is God, eternal, and everlastingly. Differences appear just because of the power of Illusion.
Enlightened sage is entirely free from “I”, egoism, cunningness, cleverness, harshness, and double-dealing. Liberated sage has no lover and no enemy.
Liberated sage is one who is above from cast, creed, and races, and ever dwells in the supreme consciousness.
Liberated sage is an ocean of divine wisdom and can clear all the doubts of a divine aspirant.

How do you become An Spiritual Enlightened Person?
Some divine gurus of meditation say meditation is the only way to get Spiritual enlightenment while others say devotion is the way to reach the state of spiritual enlightenment.
This is also said that good karmas make you capable to get the Spiritual enlightenment. Mother Meera did no meditation, but still touched the height of Supreme Being and dissolved in the supreme soul.
Sage Valmiki was dacoit but still enlightened. Therefore, there is no hard and fast rule to become an enlightened soul.
This is the great blessing of the Supreme Being that rarely occurs on a rare one and the aspirant gets the Spiritual enlightenment.
This is absolutely true that one gets a divine teacher only when God blesses and this is also true that when divine teacher blesses only then the aspirant knows the Supreme Being.
Now, the question is how you become enlightened.
The answer is simple when you have a deep thirst for God when you have the only thirst of God, and when you forget everything except the God due to whatever the reasons, then only you get blessings of God to get the Spiritual enlightenment.
