Gayatri Mantra Meaning, Mystery and Benefits – Gayatri mantra meaning  – Gayatri Mantra is very powerful mantra. Gayatri mantra is present in all four Vedas – Rig Veda, Yajur Veda, Sama Veda, Atharva Veda.

 

Gayatri is the mother of all the Vedas

As Gayatri Goddess picture is the physical image of Goddess Gayatri, similarly Gayatri mantra is the sound form of the Gayatri Goddess.

In mantra words and their meaning is not very important, because meanings and words differs from one language to another language. But sounds is one only doesn’t matter from which language you belong. Hence, while recitation of mantra sounds remain the same.

If a person is not capable to produce correct sound of a mantra then the mantra may produce wrong results. Once, an American woman recited Gayatri mantra and lost her voice due to wrong pronunciation. Recovering from the loss of voice took almost 10 years afterwards.

So, in mantra sounds work not the meaning. Another important thing is trust and reverence. If you have trust and reverence for the God and Goddess of the mantra you will get results quick.

Researches on Gayatri Mantra

Various researches are done on the Gayatri mantra to know its importance and found the manta effective.

A study was conducted in which 30 healthy, willing, hostel students (15 boys and 15 girls) in the age group of 11-14 years were included. After recording the baseline values, all the students were trained in Chanting Gayatri mantra for a week days by Veda pundit before the starting of the study.

After a week days, the participants started chanting the mantra once a day, for five days a week, early in the morning at 6am under the supervision of Vedic expert for 10 minutes for16 weeks.

In the study a significant increase in the both spatial and verbal memory scores are recorded by the chanting of Gayatri mantra.

In another study the effect of Gayatri mantra and Om jaap were compared and in comparison to OM recitation Gayatri Mantra was found better.
